Default Short shifter Questions? I did a search, but never heard of this problem... Loud Rattling Shifter.

So I'm interested in the skunk2 Dual bend short shifter? But I have 2 Questions:

1: Are there any reports of this shifter hitting the exhaust. ( I really can't see this happening, but I thaught I'd ask)

2: Any reports of a loud vibrating noise with this shifter?

The reason I ask is because I currently have the B&M Single bend short shifter with ES poly. bushings and It works great but I get this lound rattling noise when I'm on the freeway from the shifter. It stops when I Press forward / down on the shifter, but starts back up when I let go. I'm not sure what I can do to fix the rattleing. Is this common with short shifters. This is the first time it's happened to me.

p.s. I want to go with the skunk2 dual bend because I want something mounted a little closer to me. And would like something that doesnt' rattle really loud on the freeway.

I went to the MFactory short shifter, no rattling. Did you take up slack in the linkage by using spacers?

i had this issue with my stock exhaust and my dc sports dual bend shifter, i put an aftermarket exhaust on and i dont have the problem anymore. sometimes if the stock exhaust was replaced it could hang too high and rub on the shifter.

I got underneath and there is no way it is hitting the exhaust, I wonder what else it could be.
What kind of washers should I use to make things are tight on the linkage?
(I have some extra rubber o rings from my old B&M, maybe i'll use those. my old striaght stick B&M never had this problem)

Nope, I have one, it doesn't rattle. I also put new bushings on it, it feels really good.

I used regular type of washers, anything to take up space within the linkage.

I am having this same problem with my Skunk2 shifter on my 2000 Si. I bought the car with it already on.
It came with a really heavy but really ugly momo shift ****. Took it off and put a stock SI shift **** on and now it vibrates really bad when I let off the throttle.
I looked underneath the car and the shifter is almost against the stock exhaust heat shield.
Where is exactly is the "ball seat" part of the shifter. Ill have to lube that up and see if it works. After that I will try new bushings. If that doesnt work then I will have to resort to a heavier ****.

it rattles probobly because u may have not put the rubber washers in between the shifter and the linkage on both sides. mine used to do that too. there supposed to be sandwiched in there and are anoying to repace, at least in my case
