Default ebay coil overs Which way?

Ive done suspension quite a few times and im almost positive that the black adjustment pieces go in the bottom. Just wanted to double check.

Like this?

Or like this?

And if they are all the way adjusted to the bottom it would be the full drop and if they are adjusted to the top it would be no drop?

ALSO my last question when i set them up its seems as if its short and the top perch wont touch the top of the spring.

the 2nd pic is more or less correct.

in the rear, because of the welded cups on the shock, you wont get as low as the available threads on the sleeve. but thats normal. you shouldnt be that low anyway.

its ok for the top of the spring to not touch the top mount when its unloaded, wheel in the air. it wont be like that when you drive. especially if you have a swaybar.

and dont use the dust boots. they will just get in the way, impossible to use actually. so dont put them on, and dont worry about it.

they should slide in between the shock body and the ID of the sleeve to provide a snug, concentric fit.
