Default PLEASE help...spark plug wires keep popping off, and very bad wheel hop

I went to the track yesterday for the first time and had a few problems. I had extremely bad wheel hop. I think I broke one of my motor mounts. The one on the drivers side, the rubber is cracked and it is squirting oil on my motor. Could it have been broke before I went, explaining the horrible wheel hop? Also, could ya'll recommend some new ones.

Second problem was two of my spark plug wires kept poppong off of the plugs. I have the MSD 8.5mm wires. Every time I would push them on until they snapped, but after every run they were barely touching the plugs. I also checked them when I got home after normal driving and they were off. Any suggestions????????

Thanks

The plugs are damaged.

about the timing belt side mount, the same thing happened to my friends 2000 EX, its a liquid filled mount, that crap inside stains the paint so BE CAREFUL, i would suggest purchasing a poly mount made by Place Racing, DOES WONDERS!

I just put the plugs in like 4 days ago. You think they are defective? Any other suggestions on the wheel hop. I heard something about a Z10 kit. What is that?

Where can I get the place racing mounts from?

I see you have Tokico's. How old are they? Which ones are they? I had blues and the LF was gone in less than 4 months, less than 5,000 miles. Lack of dampening (aka blown shock) COULD be your wheel hopp problem.

When I first got my accell 8.5mm wires from Summit, they were popping off too. I think they sent me Y8 wires instead of Z6. I can't confirm this, but it appears that the Y8 pugs holes are not as deep as the Z6. Measure the length of the wire boot from stock compared to the new ones and I bet they're shorter.

My stock wires have gone in the trash a long time ago. I have the Tokico Illuminas (the adjustable ones). Less than 1 month old. They were set on 2 in the front and 5 in the back.

MSD wires are famous for popping off, just squeeze the end of the conectors in so it fits tighter on the plug. as for the wheel hop just give it a little more gas

Did you tighten the spark plugs to factory spec ? I put them in hand tight once and had the same problem. When I did it the right way they lasted until I changed them (5ooo miles)

steve
ps if you can afford z10 bars they are worth every cent.

The wires popping off is a COMMON problem with aftermarket wires. Your best bet is to stick with the stockers. There are many 10 second or better Hondas out there running factory wires.
