Default PROJECT RHD Integra DB8 Conversion and Type R Front End

<FONT SIZE="4">SOLD!! this car needed too much body work so i decided to let her go. I picked up another 4 door and im going to start over. i kept my 4x114 type r suspension so yeah, im going to make another RHD build thread. maybe ill make a "HOW TO" thread... we'll see. keep posted for my other thread. i will post the link here when i start </FONT>


so yeah. i got this integra db8 today from a friend of mine. it has Type R doors and Type R 4x114 suspension already on it. anyways, so i decided to do a RHD conversion on it. im not too sure if i should make a "How To Do" thread so ill just do it like this for now. please dont post any negative comments. keep it to yourself. im just showing everyone my progress on my new projects.

HERE ARE SOME PICS OF MY PROGRESS I DID TODAY IN A FEW HOURS.















so i got these dill bits that i heard that worked really well.


so i started drilling...








it turned out like this after this..


same with the other side.


removed the windsheild.





10/15/07

dropped the rack.


drilled some holes out untill i got a few blisters on my hands. hahah

great job so far!

You dont have to drill out those spot welds on the bottom of the frame rail. only on top and where the rain gutter on the firewall meets the rail

actually, after looking at it, it looks easier that way..hmmm lol

you used the wrong kind of drill bit homie... theres a spot weld cutter bit that cuts around the weld so when you go to put everything back on you have some material to weld to.



as you can see in my pic there are no holes on the frame tabs. all you have to do is grind off the spot weld and you have a flat surface to spot weld the rhd firewall to.



i wish you a fun experience though.. mine was

yeah i seen those spot weld drill bits but this one works just fine and its cheaper. i havent had any problems yet with it. thanks for the info man.
