Need help on swap!
Hi i my motor blew a week ago it was a d16y8. i found a cheap d16z6 i put it in my car with the d16y8 harness still in but the harness dose not match up, do i need to get a d16z6 harness? i put in the d16y8 intake manifold and most of ithe clips matches but its just the distributer plugs are different? do i need to get a differnt distributor? help!!

hey bud the y8 dist doesnt fit on a z6 head.
you can either repin the plug or order a conversion harness

You can use a Z6 dizzy with some modification to the ear/ears. Its not the right way (Nor do I recommend it), but it works.

he has a z6 and a z6 dizzy, what he needs to do is cut the plug off of it and splice on the obd2 plug (easy all wires are same color)

Better switch the oil pump housing from the Y8 to the Z6 for the crankshaft fluctuation sensor and add a knock sensor if your still OBD2 or you'll be in limp. That or convert to OBD1 and run off of OBD1 ecu.
