so your running 24 psi on 93 octane with a 60-1? that seems a bit unsafe if you ask me

He means both .. very high boost and low octane fuel is a recipie for detonation ..

nah, if the timing isnt messed with then it will be fine, boost doesnt matter its power. I ran 470whp on 93 octane for a long time without any problems at a little over 20 psi. My friend ran a very similar setup to this and it made 447 on 25psi, same turbo, we ragged the hell out of it everyday, it went through 3 years of abuse with 3 different owners. i remember back in the day when someone went nuts cause i wasnt sleeving for 14 psi+, when i said i was going to run 25-27 psi on stock sleeves haha. Nice setup.

Yes he said he wanted to make power with boost not timing so we cranked it up. Pulled the pugs the heat strap is about close to half on the plugs (ngk 9's) and the plugs are clean and look great. No detonation issues or misshapes. Thank you for the complement.

this car did well. decent amount of boost, conservative AFR, as little timing in it as needed to prevent misfires - I'm hoping for a long story with a happy ending on this one.

I wasn't going to push it much further with a 60-1, put it like that. Rusty wanted 400, voila he got 400. I tuned a *stock* D16Z6 on 23psi (with a 14b) recently on pump gas, and had no issues there either. Think like a MAF car is all I have to say.

Did not monitor EGTs. My hand-EGT guage said they were high but not cooking hot.

the suspension is a stock strut with a lowering spring and all energy bushings all around. .. traction is well im sure you know, not there. that is my next major investment.

wow... it takes 24 psi to make that power level? I make more then that on 14 psi...

different turbo though... but its still shitty pump gas..

I would never run that much boost with pump gas... you must be nuts

nice car, and nice numbers, but 24psi on pump gas is ridiculously unsafe. you're basically throwing some slightly wet dynamite sticks in your block but you know at least one of them is going to be dry enough to explode. might not have been that day or the next, but that wont last long.

i can here that. if i would have had bigger injectors i would have been able to rev higher and push more boost but i was beyond maxing out my 550s. i'm expecting that power around 15-16 psi on my sc61 and 1000cc injectors.

still for that much boost on pump.

it was decided to make power on boost alone not timing ..thats why the high boost numbers. And this is stock head as well.
