Default infamous jerking during accel problem.

So I did a search on "car jerking" and came accross some interesting threads. A few of them were my exact problem. So chime in if you know the real cause.

There is no smoothness at all cruising on the highway. Its either on or off.

when accelerating, it jerks bad from 0-1500 rpms.

When cruising at any speed, when you left off of the pedal, it jerks and begins too slow down fast.

I have allread done the fallowing.

plugs, cap, rotor, wires. it is getting fuel. shooting a code 14, of which I cant seem too fix.

other than the code its throwing "code 14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve "

have you replaced your fuel filter lately?

I had the same problem with my ls powered civic and it turned out I had the wrong plugged in. If it is a dx car with mpfi one of the other plugs plugged right in. Make sure the wires coming off of it are blue and the other one is black IIRC.

my car did something like this when the FITV went bad, and if you have a cel 14 coming on, i would try to replace or clean the IAC. do a search on the IAC there a write up on how to clean these.

is your idle bouncing up and down?

Its the IACV.

When it dosent function you get horrible partial throttle, random holes, and other ****. There is a disable script for the IACV in Crome but you still run into all those problems. Check the connector at the IACV and see if your getting 12V and continuity to the ECU.

Could this be why when I first got my car it would idle way below the average speed and once I left off of the clutch/gas it gave me a severe jerking problem? I never checked the code but the CEL came on..

Check out your TPS along with your IACV. Once my TPS was moved over to far and was shooting incorrect V to the ECU. Always fun to tap the gas pedal and nothing for 3 secs.
