OK, so i just sold my eg hatch, and want to get an ef sedan! should i have any preference of the years? or are they all pretty much the same? now, my big question... can i put a JDM front bumper on the sedans? the one with the wrap around turn signal? or is that crx only? I think i'm going to get a red or gray one because i want the charcoal interior. also, i cant seem to be able to find a cat back for the sedan? thanks from a soon to be ef sedan newbie!
get an ex 90 91 if you can, and 5 speed. the ex came with the si motor (a6) and mpfi. makes it more easy to do a swap. i like the 90- 91 because there are little things like the lights and moldings that look better.
i dont think the weight is going to be a problem... i had both hatch and 4 door. its almost the same.

thanks civiconfire, that was exactly the info i needed!! a 90-91 ex it is! anyone have ideas about the jdm wrap around turn signal front bumper on a sedan??? can you put crx stuff on a sedan?
you can use the jdm hatch front end (has the wrap around turn signals) but you need fenders hood bumper and rad support if im not mistaken. the bumper will fit with the sedan fenders and hood but not as good as having all the stuff.
only difference with years in the sedan is really the front bumper , tail lights and some interior pieces like the cluster pod thingy lol. personally i like the 90-91 better. but im bias cuz i own one. you can also use a hatch cat back you just need to lengthen the tail pipe to clear the bumper. pretty sure no one makes exhuast for the sedan . theres other little things that are different from the hatch though ei. upper control arms(hatch's are shorter) and the ball joints on the sedan are a larger diameter.. kinda dumb
any questions feel free to pm me if you want. and you can also check this out (ef sedan squad) https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1583747

You are the pinnacle of not cool. Looks are preference, if you want a sedan then go for it. The EX is not that much faster even though it does have that bit more hp, mainly because it has those few extra creature comfort features. I think the prefacelifted ones look better and you dont have the automatic seatbelts, but for comfort and Daily driving i'd get a 90-91 EX.

EF hatch is lighter and looks cool, like me.
Yeah, i'm pretty pissed this guy had to go and ruin my thread too... anyways, i want the power locks so i can wire them to an alarm and have key less entry, and a sunroof for ease of chiefin on the way to work and back.
pretty sold on the 90-91 due to the a6 motor. to the best of my knowledge, which isn't much, the a6 has high compression pistons compared to other d series engines of the same year. please let me know if i'm completely wrong. haha, i plan on doing a mini me swap for the time being and i wouldn't mind the compression boost! again, correct me if i'm completely wrong
