Default 92 GS-R no power?

Hi my name is Naz, I just bought a super clean 92 gs-r for a daily driver and something is wrong. It has a little trouble starting, nothing major just doesn’t fire right of the bat. The idle sits around 1200 all the time. If you drive it like a normal granny then it feels fine but as soon as you start laying into the throttle it’s almost as if you deployed a parachute; it sounds like the engine is trying to pull hard but is being held back. If anyone has ridden a go-ped or something carbureted and it accelerates good if you are getting on it gradually but as soon as you get to WOT it starts pulling slower and has less power; that’s what my car is doing. After Vtec kicks it seems like it accelerates somewhat normally but if you go WOT anywhere else in the rpm range it just has the hardest time accelerating.
This is what I have checked so far
*No check engine light
*New cap
*New rotor
*New sparkplugs
*New sparkplug wires
*New fuel filter
*New intake filter
*Checked fuel presser (ok)
*Checked timing (right on)
*Checked cat (removed it didn’t do anything but make my car louder.LOL)
*Checked Coolant temp sensor( It was out of range so I put in a new one it seemed to make the problem a little better but didn’t go away)
*Checked TPS(in range)
*Checked for vacuum leak (no leak)
*Cleaned the throttle body out (like new)
I don’t know what to do next besides set the thing on fire!!! Please help.

hmm im not sure what could mechanically be wrong there, but in all seriousness how much of a "get up and go" feeling do you expect to have when the car your in only is pushing 117 TQ.

That’s funny thats what all my friends say, they tell me its not my zo6 and that im expecting to much out of my 1.7 monster. I know its not supposed to have neck-braking torque and acceleration but you could feel that something just isn’t right with the car. No car pulls harder at 2/3 throttle then it does at WOT; that’s not normal no matter what the torque or horsepower is. All my friends that have driven it say that there is definitely something wrong, plus I have owned 2 other integras so I know Its not just me expecting too much out of it.

I forgot to mention that I also checked compression with was 185,180,180,185 so that’s not it either.

Hmmm that is really weird. Does the car noticably Bog down at all when it does hit WOT or is it just a little "slower". Oh yeah and getting in a 1.7 from a Z06 has got to suck lol

I would say the car noticeably bogs down, it still accelerates but slower and it feels and sounds like its bogging, Its almost like your mashing the throttle and the brake together ( I know its not the brakes rubbing though). I’m a car lover not a domestic lover so if I like a car it doesn’t matter if its domestic, euro, jap or how big or small the motor is, so it doesn’t bug me to drive my gs-r until some *** pulls up and revs his Mustang GT with exhaust at me, those are the times I wish I was in my zo6.LOL

This may sound stupid, But check your throttle cable....make sure everything is good. Yeah i am in NO way able to buy a ZO6 so after quite a few months of the usual mustang GT w/ exhaust revs i went turbo lol. Took care of that!

The throttle cable is fine. Is there anyway that it could be bad or clogged injectors? I have a feeling that the high idle is related to my problem. Any more suggestions on what I could check next would be greatly appreciated.

it could be timming the guy might of switch the timming belt and the timming might of been off by a little where your not getting your full power. Thats what happened to one of my friends car when its cold it wont hold the idle but once its warmed up its ok.

have you cleaned fuel injectors with like lucas fuel injector cleaner? is the air filter clean? sounds like is something simple no CEL? reset the ecu let the car retune itself...try a different ECU?

I would have to lean toward timing (how did you check it [with a timing light, lining all of the timing marks up with the valve cover off and manually rotating the motor, etc?]? just curious...) if you have checked and changed everything listed....You could also try a leak down test, your comp numbers are a little low for that motor.....could also be a bad tune, do you have access to another obd1 vtec computer to see if that is your problem, it could be chipped with a bad program (open it to see if it has been socketed), or the ecu itself could have messed up...In the helms manual there are quite a few scenarios listed that lead up to a bad ecu, so it is a possibility.....

check your timing..it might be off..if it's standard check your clutch it might be slipping. I had a problem with my gsr before. it would rev high but it wont go. my timing was retarded and my clutch was slipping...
