white smoke and little fluid leakage out of exhaust...please help
when i start to go in 1st gear everytime, my exhaust lets out white smoke and fluid trickles out...what should i do? someone told me to have the pressure of my engine checked and that my head gasket isn't mixing water with fuel properly...is this true???
It could be your head gasket. Check your level and condition. If it is low you may have head gasket leak. If you notice traces of oil in your coolant you most likely have a headgasket problem. Or even a block problem, but don't jump to conclusions.
Next check your oil condition and level. If you notice your oil is milky, the liklihood of a head gasket problem is high. If none of those are the issue. Have someone do a Compression check.
If everything comes back OK! Chances are its the current cold that has brought on the white smoke. Of course unless its a thick smoke screen. Then there you definetly have a problem. But again, Im not gonna jump the gun on this.

All vehicles will build up condensation in the exhaust, and that will blow out as steam when the car is still warming up. You even see it on air-cooled vehicles, so just because that happens doesn't mean that your head gasket is gone.
If your head gasket is gone, it will keep going even after it warms up. Also, odds are you'll be getting lots of bubbles in your coolant, are you?
In addition, presuming you have a decent bit of antifreeze in there if the HG is blown the smoke will smell REALLY bad. if it just smells normal (and because your engine is still kinda cold at that point, smelling a bit like gas is normal), your HG is probably fine.
Also, the HG doesn't mix water with fuel. It keeps oil and water (well, coolant) from mixing, and keeps both of them out of the combustion chamber.

thanks for advice...how would i check the coolant for bubbles if it's going to squirt at me when the engines warmed up? should i take off cap and then start engine and wait for it to warm up?
Yeah, take the cap off with the engine cold and let it warm up. Ideally, have someone rev it (at WOT) in neutral while you watch - the HG is most likely to leak when the cylinder pressures are highest.
However, just checking the smell of the "smoke" is the easiest way - if it doesn't smell horrible, you're fine.
