My shifting gears problem has returned, only happens when the car is running hot in traffic?
I'm really stumped on this one guys.. ok, a few days ago on my way home i was stuck in bumper 2 bumper traffic in the blistering heat of FL, well my transmission decided to quit shifting into gears without a struggle, so I get home, change my tranny fluid and find a crazy metallic liquid that was once Honda MTF (only 1500 miles on the fluid), anyway it has ran fine for the past few days on short trips, but today when I was sitting in traffic it happened again, all the way home. this just happened to be the same conditions as the other day; High temps, bad traffic, etc.. when i'm sitting still i hear my fan kick on a lot, and my under the hood temps are really high, although my temp gauge sits right under half way.. Could the heat from sitting still boil my hydraulic fluid and keep the slave cylinder from working properly????
if I shut the car off it works fine, which is what i did at every stop until I got home
specs:
'96 civic ex
b16a swap (freshly built for boost)
y21 transmission
