Body Parts for EF - where to get?
I seriously thought that I had already posted this, but I can't find it anywhere, so I guess I didn't!!! But if I did, and I just missed it, then forgive me: I'm a dork.
Okay, for all of you body gurus out there - I need to get rear body panels for my civic, or else let the rust have her and move on. I've got the welder, got the skills, got the professional welder as a friend, and have the time. Now all I need are the panels.
As I see it, I have 3 places I can get the stuff at, each with its pros and cons -
1) Honda
Pros: Good quality, good fit
Cons: Price (~ $300 for each side!!)
2) Aftermarket body panels
Pros: Price (~$150 for each side)
Cons: Unkown fit, unknown quality
3) Junkyards
Pros: Price (unknown, exactly)
Cons: Uknown fit, unknown condition: rust all over again?
So, if anyone knows of any good places to get rear body panels for a EF 4door, please let me know!!!!
Thanks all!!!
Dave

Sorry man, if you're going to reply to a post, please read it! I know I have to weld. But it's worth it in order to save my car. And it's something fun to learn!
So anyone else out there that has helpful information?
Dave
I get OEM replacement parts from the junkyard. They are new parts, at way cheaper prices. I ordered the fenders, and radiator support this way. The support alone at the dealer was $300, the replacement part was $75. Fenders were $60. As far as I know, all junkyards do this.
The fit is great also.

Yeah, the only problem with that is the fact that I live in NY, and I'm afraid that any parts I get from a junk yard up here are already rusted. And I hate buying used part sight unseen, ya know?

So why dnot you go and LOOK or can you not do that in NY, in Iowa you can walk around the 2 good junkyards we have with all your tools and take anything you want and just pay for it upfront. Ive already found a couple rex's that Id like to strip out.

Thanks for the offers, but I was technically correct when I called my car an EF... Its a 91 Sedan. So, unfortunately for me, what you have offered will not work.
But I'll be patient, and keep looking...
Thanks!!
