Default Torque Clutch Converter issue

my check engine light on my 98 2.3 accord lx just came on and i got it checked, its a code P0740, which is a TCC Circuit Malfunction. Basically when I get to red lights, the car jerks a little bit, and today the car even stalled once. I just got my tranny rebuilt a month ago and still have the warranty, and i spoke to the owner and he told me to bring it in. Does anyone know how serious of an issue this is, because when I spoke to him on the phone he downplayed it all, said it was between a 5-30 min job where he has to change a couple things and settings....anything I should look for or expect, or anything to tell him?

If the torque converter is locking up at low speeds, the feeling is similiar to stalling a manual transmission. Bascially, the TC is keeping a higher pressure on engine, and the low rpm cant handel the load.

How does the car shift while you drive?

the car shifts fine, but when i'm driving around 55-60mph it feels like it doesn't lock into gear and it will stumble while i drive....

Put alittle identifying mark on your shift lock up solenoids. I bet he swaps those out for different ones.

Just curious as to why you got the tranny rebuilt in the first place. Did they put in a rebuilt torque converter also? Did they use Honda ATF for the refill?

I have the same code now.

so i just got back from the transmission shop, and he told me its a lockup control solenoid thats bad.....he said that since he didn't change that at the time of the rebuild, he can't replace it under the warranty. The part itself at honda is $321, but does anyone know where I can find a used one?

Default I THINK I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 1997 ACCORD.

I'M DRIVING IN THE AFTERNOON AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIT ON MY 1997 ACCORD SE. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND THE SCANNER SAID CODE 742!!!!
APPARENTLY THAT IS THE CODE FOR THE TORQUE CONVERTER STUCK ON.

THE THING IS THAT MY CAR SHIFTS SMOOTH AT ALL SPEEDS AND I DON'T FEEL THE CAR SHIFTING ROUGH OR SLIPPING.... ( NOT EVEN CLOSE)
ONE THING THE CAR DOES IS SHAKES A LOT WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP ON DRIVE MODE.!!

ANY ADVICE? COULD IT BE A BAD READING, OR DOES THE CAR NEED A REBUILT TRANSMISSION?

I'M A BIT CONFUSED BECAUSE MY TRANNY SEEMS PERFECT..

PLEASE HELP..

THANK YOU.
