Default what car to buy, EX or SI? $2500-3000 price difference

I found two civics, a 99ex and a 00si. both have around 90-100k. both original owner, both black, and both supposedly in good condition. the difference in price is about 2500-3000 dollars. i only plan to do shocks, lower, and wheels

advantage of si:
rear disk
bigger sway bar (i think)
grill
lip
wheels
better resale value
the fact that it's an si
of course b16
si cluster
and i think seats
painted side skirts

cons:
higher insurance
more chance of being stolen
cost more

what you guys think?

where im from a type r parked in the street with no security will get stolen in 10 minutes.

integra gsr im coo, i had a few integras including a 95 gsr and a 94ls w/jdm front. too low, scrape too much and not enough room for passengers in back.

out of all the cars i've owned, including a bb prelude, crx, 2 ek civic coupes, 2 eg's, 3 dc integras, a miata, i like the eg and ek coupe the best but i sold my favorite eg and now i want something a little more newer

get the ej8 with that extra 4gs you were going to spend on an em1, just swap in JDM ITR that EATS em1's daily

-150 bucks for rear discs off a 92 si hatchback
-em1 cluster looks cool but get a ctr cluster to go with the itr swap
-save money on insurance
-lower theft rate

Both cars are almost teh same but the em1 has little perks which isnt worth the 4k and huge insurance difference IMO I'd rather put that money into a proper engine swap, B16 is crap no torque and sucks ***** for city driving

imo a b16 isn't much worse than a gsr for daily driving. The transmission has the same ratios as the itr. Just minus 35 hp and 19 tq in a lighter car.

It's not $4k difference, it's $2.5-3k he said...plus, the Si actually gets you a lot of stuff you'd end up doing anyway. Plus he said he only plans to do wheels and stuff. With the $2500 he'd save, he'd be hard pressed to even get a B16 in there and some wheels/tires. So with the Si he gets nice wheels, paint matched exterior, B16, rear discs, completely different interior with amber lighting etc, front lip, etc. What you're talking about is way out of the 2.5-3k range. A B18C5 with tranny, rear discs, a CTR cluster, and simple exterior mods would be about double that, and he'd still be riding on 14 inch steelies with caps.

And I dunno where all this stuff about insurance comes from, my Si is cheap on that.
