Funny you should say this! I have a 2007 EX Coupe and I have the same problem if I shift too fast! Its annoying (spelling) isnt it! I just have to pay attention to my foot and hand coordination and I dont do it then.

Because no one revs their civic to 8400 and shifts when they are auto-xing right?

It's not just about having fast reflexes......it's mostly about coordination and timing. You could have the fastest reflexes in the world, but if your timing is off you're gonna mis-shift regardless.
Of course part of it might be the MTF.....that's certainly possible to.

It's all about the timing. I've got an 07 Type-S and once in a while I will grind second when I am redlining in 1st and shifting into 2nd. You have to pause for that 1/2 of a second before shifting into second. Going from an 05 EL non-DBW to an 07 Type-S with DBW, you almost have to un-learn your shifting habits. I notice that I tend to do it less now that I have a feel for the DBW.

You mean Si right? 07 Type S doesn't exist.
Funny....I don't pause at all when redlining first and shifting into second and I don't have any problems with grinding. Like I said earlier...it's about coordination and timing.
