Default RCA: Stereo to Mono

I am looking for a way to convert a pair of RCAs(left and right channel) to a mono channel, combining both channels, to make a center channel. I am wanting to do this at the RCA level.

I'm willing to build my own if there is a schematic out there

Any help is greatly appreciated

just use a summing op-amp with unity gain, should give you what you need

Im trying to search the net for one but the op-amp summing circuits that i find require a + and - viltage input(not just positive and ground)

Right RCA------/\/\/\/\/\--+----/\/\/\/\------Left RCA
........................10k........|.......10k
.....................................| <- mono output

Combine the grounds together, run the signals through 10k resistors as shown, and there ya go.

check out page 9,

Also you will be able to find an op amp which does not use duel supply, just search mouser.com or another part store online.

I'm not sure if this set up would work, wher edo you hook the ground of the RCAs to with this setup?
