yeah, but it doesn't really do anything else particularly well. It only seats two, it gets Bad gas mileage, has truck handling, it's an onroad truck with summer oriented tires (i never got that one) ..and the looks of any truck really dont appeal to me. It seems that there are a few cars that can do 13.5 that are ugly, inefficient, you will not take off road, and will have to buy snow tires for (camaro, mustang, trans am).
It seems like the lightning has all the weak points of a truck mixed in with the weak points of cars....
lol sorry to rain on your parade. I'm glad you're happy with your purchase. I'm really not trying to be a dick...although I probably am being a dick.

Saying that a Camaro, Mustang, or Trans Am is ugly is just your opinion. They all do, however have the advantage of being RWD rather than W(rong)WD. Don't get me wrong, I used to love having the "disadvantage", but when it comes down to it, dollar for dollar, there are so many cars that can be made faster in drag, autocross, or even D(o)rifting. Even when my car was at it's fastest, a naturally aspirated Camaro would give me a run for my money.

woah woah. Wrong wheel drive? Look at my avatar. I have an S2000. My GSR is my daily. I've had a few quick NA FWD cars that were faster than a mustang.
My S2000 (only engine mod is an intake) is way faster than a stock Z28, and way.....way......WAY faster than a stock last gen mustang GT. I've beat modded mustang GTs. I know he had an exhaust....and while I was passing him, the front sounded kinda loud...so im sure he had an intake too. Maybe other stuff....but I never talked to him about the car. Besides that, I rarely ever drag my S2000. I do, however, roadrace it A LOT. In which area not, you'd have to have God's hand guiding a camaro to beat me.
I've also had a 12sec S13. I love civics and integras....dont get me wrong. But I always have to have one RWD car. All the FWD cars that I've owned have been awesome daily drivers though.
I know that those cars being ugly is my opinion. I said that it was my opinion in the post.
There's a lot more to life than drag racing. I could have more fun in a stock 1.6 liter miata that I could in a Camaro SS. I speak from expereince, BTW....except it was a stock 1.8L miata....

I agree with what your saying. My prolbrem is no matter what I spend on my gsr pound for pound it wont be faster than my lightning so bottom line I'm going to stop modding it so like the topic its a SAD DAY for the GSR.
yeah it was my first car...but now im getting a truck...starting to get into off roading now soo...big tires and lifts are gunna be my new hobbie now..maybe later when i get rich ill jump back into a teggy.

I like getting dirty in the mud now :-D not only that i do alot of outdoors activities and you can't exactly take a GSR camping, fishing, or hunting..soo need something that will support my habits. But its not like im never gunna get a honda again..this is just my play truck. and when i get into the Academy ill probably get a s2000 or something nice.

I just have to say one thing; there is no way an S2000 is faster than a Z28 (98+ with LS1). I've driven both cars, an S2000 when I was considering buying one and bought an ITR instead and a 98 Camaro Z28 6 spd. when I "jacked" my uncle's car for a while.

A Stock S2000 would give a stock LS1 a run for its money.. if the S2000 driver was a better driver, he'd probably win... And thats 4 NA cylinders vs. 8.... GO HONDA

It wasn't an LS-1 car. I'm sure it was an LT-1. Also, just for the record...I'm not into drag racing. I've probably mentioned this before. The camaro guy was just being annoying and it was in the morning and I'm irritable in the morning. Once I beat him he just left me alone. So that was a plus. The DC2 is a great car. I have a 99 as a daily (not an ITR, a GSR). Very flexible with it's talents. But I would NEVER EVER give up my S2000 for an ITR. The performance differences are not even comparable. Same with a Z28. Just not my type of car. I said in the S2000 forum that I'd feel more comfortable cross dressing to a church than driving an F body.

Definitely not from a stop. From a medium speed roll (start at around 45, end at around 95), yes the S2000 would give the LS-1 car a run for it's money. It would still lose, but it wouldn't be embarrasing. I've tried this at Road America many times. LS-1 guys (corvettes, camaros) cant corner half as fast as an S2000, so they become douche bags on the straightaways and floor it instead of doing the right thing and waving you past.
Dont get it twisted, though, there's no way a 4cyl (especially NA) honda could compare to an LS-1 car as far as drag racing. I mean you could mod the **** out of your honda to get it to run 11s and then still get effortlessly dusted. My friend's C5 Z0-6 was running deep 11s BONE stock with spray. A stock C6 Z06 will easily go high 10s. But those cars do EVERYTHING well. Just removing an air filter from a C6 Z06 will add like 20something WHP. Last I checked, honda's best ever 4cyl NA makes 240hp, runs 13s-14s out of the box, and makes 2hp if you put a $1500 header on it.
That's why I dont bother with drag racing. I always buy the wrong cars to do it
