checking transmission fluid
theres no dipstick for it, you gotta open a bolt on the side of the transmission and stick your finger in. if you dont know when the last time yours was changed you may want to just replace it, since its not going to hurt anything.

it's almost easier than an oil change. using the pictures in the above link^, it's more or less:
*jack up the car so it's level - this is key
*crack the fill bolt so you know you can get it loose and out
*remove the drain bolt and drain the fluid
*torque down the drain bolt with new washer
*fill/pump in new tranny fluid till it runs out and you know the level is up to the fill hole.
*torque down the fill bolt with a new washer
*done.
*jack up the car so it's level - this is key
*crack the fill bolt so you know you can get it loose and out
*remove the drain bolt and drain the fluid
*torque down the drain bolt with new washer
*fill/pump in new tranny fluid till it runs out and you know the level is up to the fill hole.
*torque down the fill bolt with a new washer
*done.
