I'm getting a CR-V made in 1998 to 2003 (that's the range I can offord) and curious if there's anything specific I need to be aware of when purchasing a CRV made in these years;

Also, is it better to invest a little more and buy 2002-03 model or 3-5k extra is too much for the 2nd generation?

I'm also curious to learn any good or bad experience related to models made these years.

 

/\ I agree. I had a 97 and it was great. Just like any other car make sure it has had regular services, especially valve adjusts, and rear diff services with only Honda Dual Pump fluid. Also there were a few service bulletins like an ignition switch on some models, you can find out by calling a Honda dealer with the VIN and they can lookup and see if the important bulletins were completed or not....

 

i am currently also looking at a 2001 cr-v

so far i love the thing but I'm a little worried about its 4x4 performance maybe someone can help me out with some experience with theirs

i go snowboarding a lot and so some light off-roading and a lot of snow driving. i snowboard a lot and a lot of our local spots are not plowed and I'm just wondering if clearance or anything is going to be a big issue???

 

i watched some videos of v's doing some offroading on youtube last night and they seem to do pretty good in all conditions.

i'm going on thursday to talk numbers with the dealership. i just hope i can get a loan! my credit sucks
