Where to buy some b series head flanges
I wish you'd do some 1/2" man. It's not necessary, but the anti-warpage characteristics are damn nice when your doing inside welds with no jig attached. I need some cheap 1/2" T3 flanges
i know. the reason i do everything in 3/8" though is because you can only laser cut holes in material that are larger in diameter or the same size that matches the thickness of the material... so for 3/8" thick flanges that means 3/8" holes. for 1/2" flanges, that means 1/2" holes... so i wouldn't be able to get small holes in all the 1/2" flanges and i'd have to drill all of them myself, which i don't have the time to do. also, i feel that 1/2" is not necessary. i've had no issues so far using 3/8" flanges.
what brand laser does the shop have? i have ran a few lasers and i have made several parts on them that had 3/8 holes in 1/2 steel. It can be done, i think the shop doesnt want to try it. It takes a little bit more time to so, when i had to cut parts like that i would pierce all the holes with the laser first then go back and cut them out. Doing it this way the heat from the pierce has had time to dissipate and should not cause problem when you go back to cut the holes.
