removing battery acid from paint?

not exxactly sure how i did it but i managed to spill battery acid on my front passenger fender and some on the rear bumper
so im wondering if theres anyway you can remove that?
any help would be appreciated even if your telling me its impossible

Backing soda and water. Do it right now or it will eat away at your paint and metal. Washing it off with water alone will not get rid of it. The backing soda will deactivate I guess you can say the acid from the battery. Hurry and do it right now.

its been sitting there for a while cause ive posted before and no one ever told me
so its to late now i guess? it turned black where it had sat on the paint
