i got me a set of srp pistons pn 149194 and i'm not sure on which rings to get, do/should i get srp rings? or a different brand?
or what best clearance.

i use JE Pro Seal rings with mine, no problems so far

 

I have SRP slugs in my engine and I used the JE rings that came with the set. I gapped the top around 0.019" and the second around 0.025" if I recall and this was on my 81mm B16. You'll gap yours according to your bore.

My engine is over 20K miles, broken in on the dyno and still has a consitant 18-20 mm Hg at idle. Depending on how hard I drive it and how hot the pistons get it might hit 21mm. The slugs don't expand as much as the 2xxx series aluminum slugs, they act more like OEM cast pistons in where the expansion rate is lower. The only draw back is they aren't as "tough" as other forged pistons.

every shop that i contact with offer me SRP rings and not JE.... are they the same?

I said JE rings only because JE owns SRP. I'm not sure which one's I recieved as I asked the local shop to get me a good combo for my bottom end and they got me Crower Rods, ACL rod bearings, SRP pistons, and then the rings which more than likely were SRP. Call up JE and ask. But call three times and check to see if you get consecutive answers
