Ok i have a 91 hatch si with a b18a1,The car ran fine until about 3 weeks ago when it had a sputter and kick when i would floor it.well i was driving home last nght and the car died right there on the road i tried to crank it and it wouldent. So i sat there about 15 minutes tring and tring finally it cranked.I hauled *** home right when i got to my driveway it died agian and this time it would not crank.I had my wife check the spark and it was sparking at all.So i waited for a lil while checked it agian and it was sparking but real weak looking spark then it stoped.So i though it might be my distributor so iswaped it with another one i had that i know works fine and it cranked up and ran for like 3 mins then it died up and down a few times the cut offi tried agian and agian after that and i got nothing.SO i thought it was a ground so i pulled all of the grounds and cleaned them and tried agian and still nothing!!!My ecu does come on when i start the car but it is not throwing a code wtf is wrong here??????


oh yea and my main relay works fine also i pulled it and checked.

 

Check the rotor inside the distributor. I had same problem. I was driving on flushing ave in ny and my cut off the power and when i tried to gas nothing and went was 40 to 10 in 2 secs and engine light came on and tried to crank it, it wanted to start but something was rattling inside the dizzy. REmoved the cap and the rotor screw came off. So i applied lotite and ever since it never shut off.
