Default Can I replace the head unit in a 04 TL with the head unit from an 07?

I've used the search on the forum and can't find much more than how to get a radio code, so I guess I'll ask-

I just bought an 04 TL and I really miss the ability to play MP3 CDs that I had with my old car. I don't really want to put an aftermarket head unit in and have some big plastic fit kit panel on my dash, and I noticed that the 07 TL's have a factory radio head unit that plays MP3/WMA.

Does anyone know if the wiring harness is the same for both the 04 and the 07 factory radios? Would it be as simple to swap them out as unplugging the old one and sticking the new one in there?

Thanks in advance!

no, you cannot readily do it, but with some work and a lot of cash, it can be done

THe wire harnesses are different. I cant tell you why becasue all I have is the part numbers.

They are expensivish though around 600 bucks for the cheaper of the 4 versions.
