Default 98 Civic HB CX aftermarket exhaust issue

Hey guys i just bought a 98 civic cx and am new to owning a civic and working on cars in general. But I am having a blast just reading and learning. But on to my question -I bought a obx aftermarket exhaust. I love the look of the exhaust but the problem is I had the car jacked up but realized that the exhaust was way to short. Due to the 3 flange connector off of the cat is right underneath the header at the front of the car and the spot where this exhaust is sopposed to hoook up there is only a 2 flange pipe coming off the cat.

The guy I bought it from said he has never sold one of the these to a cx owner and said I can return it. But is there anyone else that has a cx that has the same issue? Or know of anyway to make this exhaust work with another pipe? Or should i find an exhaust built for the cx models? Any ideas would be appreciated. thanks!

if it is not a direct bolt on..a muffler shop can take care that problem for u by cutting and welding..

yeah it was supposed to be a direct bolt on. But i think the cx might be a funky because a few people i've talked to said the spot of my cat was different.

I believe your problem is that your exhaust manifold and catalytic converter are ONE piece same as on the DX model. All D16Y7s have a one piece cat/header.
The EX is 2 piece header/cat found only on D16Y8s. Maybe picking up an aftermarket header & cat for an EX or getting an OEM one from the junkyard
would help you.
