d16z6 blown head gasket what else to do when in there
i have a 95 ex with a blown headgasket. i was going to get a y8 2 layer head gasket new oem water pump, timing belt, and put in some pm7s or pm6s. i have the car as a dd and i want it to pass smog in cali. me and my friend are going to do all the work. i know i need to get it tuned. do i need to worry about the valves hitting at all? is there anything els i should do thats not to expensive whyle im in there. i want to keep it all motor. thanks for the tips
Why not just get the stock z6 gasket? TB and WP while doing the HG is good. That should pretty much cover it.
i heard the y8 will give better cr. this is basicly what i want do u think its worth it?

For a person living in CA that has to follow strict smog regulations and also owning a D16z6 I wouldnt waste my money on all of that stuff with false hopes of hauling *** in the future. If you dont install all of that yourself or if you do and dont know what you are doing it could be bad. I would just stick with the HG/WP/TB and call it a day. All of those parts along with a VC gasket cost me $190 shipped for SLhondaparts.com
If you want to make real power for the least amount of money you are going to want to go turbo. Even the $3k CARB legal setup that Edelbrock makes will produce more WHP out of that SOHC than an N/A build would for the price
