yeah but do u wait for the oil to drain back to the pan, and u don't want to over fill the engine being that u can damage it if u do.
good rule of thumb, just follow manufactur specs and then check level "AFTER" u let it drain back down.

Yeah, I took my Si to a supposed independent Honda specialist. I provided him with 5 qts of Amsoil 5w-30(ASL) thinking he'd know the capacity is 4.6 qts being a "specialist" and all.... When he was done, I asked him for the remaining half(.4) quart of oil, and he told me that he put all 5 qts in. He said that was normal and that the engine could actually use a little more,LOL! I showed him that the owners manual said that the capacity is 4.6 qts. He said noooooo, that he does this everyday, blaa, blaa, blaa.... I drove home and let the car sit about 45min. I went out and checked the oil, and it was over the max/full hole(indicator) by almost a 1/4". I took the car back to the "specialist" and told him it was overfilled. He looked none to happy(like I was trying to be dick or saying "I told you so"), but drained a little Amsoil out(wasted) for me. I'm never going back there again..... I highly recommend Amsoil oil, but the Synchromesh MT fluid is a must!
Amsoil is by far one of the best oils I've ever used. My car use to burn 1 quart of oil at about 7000 miles before my scheduled oil change of 15,000mile and when I started using Amsoil...I reach my oil change interval at 15,000 miles without adding any oil. Before this experience, I always thought there weren't much differences between oils.
not to thread jack but this regards changing the trans fluid. i noticed the drain bolt sits pretty high up compared to where the bottom of the bell housing sits.. anyone decide to drain the trans through a casing bolt?
