99 honda prelude - Lost key :(
I ran a search and came up with people here saying a replacement key at the dealer will cost 10 - 15 dollars. But I'm not sure if my 99 prelude (non SH) has a immobilzer or program ignition. The last key I used looks like any honda key, nothing special. Please somebody tell me if it ain't so cause I will **** bricks.
Ok guys, what will be the best way to go about doing this.
I called the Honda dealer nearby and they told me it's going to cost 600 dollars to get it done. They basically broke it down about the imobilizer process and how the key gets made. Well, I really dont want to pay this much.
Would it be cheaper if I just replace the ignition unit and do away with the whole security key.
Any help on this will be appreciated.

google "prelude anti-theft" or something like that, thats how i found a DIY permanent bypass for the security key than take your ignition to a blacksmith who can mold a key, thats what i had to do with my motorcycle.
