Default Getting rid of automatic seat belts?

I want to get rid of my automatic seat belts so i can mount my Center Arm rest, I tried searching for a Diy but there was none, so dont harass me about searching.

Is it possible and what will i require. I'm aware i could just go to a junkyard and rip apart a car and find out but im at work atm and would like to have the knowledge before i waste 2 hours sittin around in the junkyard staring at honda's.

you're at the work ATM. I wish my work had an ATM but I guess that would mean I work at a bank.

no but in all seriousness what kind of car do you have and what is the problem with installing your arm rest? is the arm rest from a different car or is it from an ED?

Yeah those auto belts suck a big one. I have never seen anyone do a write up on them I'm sure all the mounting hardware for manual belts are in the car but you will have to convert it over.

Guess ill have to go to the junkyard in a bit and figure out if it's possible to do.
I'm sure it is possible , i mean look at the auto- manual conversion, Manual tranny bolt holes were already there and threaded so i'm sure honda put some threaded bolts on the there somewhere for manual seat belts.

I'll come back in the evening to do a "DIY" if i find the parts i need.

ugh, i have pictures and no it doesn't work, unless you want to weld some nuts on every bolted spot and drill holes also. You wil need the plastic pillar covers also cuz they're sloted for adjustability, i noticed the automatic setup is heavy and bulky.
I'm going to modify the part bolted on to the seat so its not in the way, pics tonight.

Great minds think alike. I'm going through the same ordeal and for the same reason. I want the 94-01 teg console in my sedan but those bigass belts are in the way. Did you try and put the retractor from the bottum mount into the hole where the auto seat belt retractor is?

I would think manual retractor would be much smaller but I'm wondering about the bracketry to secure it. Welding in nuts isn't a big deal for me but clearance issues are.

FOUND OUT HOW TO PUT CONSOLE WITH AUTO BELTS!!!

If you want the arm rest itself and keep automatic belts, just do this:

SWITCH THE SEAT BELT ROLL ON THE SEAT FROM PASSENGER TO DRIVER AND DRIVER TO PASSENGER AND THEN FLIP THEM BACKWARDS, LOOK AT PICTURE ABOVE.

I understand what you mean by switching from drivers side to passenger side but what do you mean when you say flip them backwards? Turn them around?

I hope this works...I will love you forever if it does

I've seen this before - you just swap sides, but don't bolt the same side of the retractor down. They'll be pushing into the seat afterwards, but you'll have extra room for a console.

I was hoping to see a complete swap, since I hate the auto belts just because they're auto, not for space issues.

It does work, look at the picture man, only one bolt bolts on though.

It didn't work on my car, the da seats sit in a little crooked and also the seat belt retractor is a bigger than the standard civic.
