i just replaced my head gasket in my d16z6(94 honda delsol). for those of you that remember my spark problem i figured it out, some jackass kept selling me bad dizzys, out of 4 none of them worked.

anyways i ended up taking my car to a mechanic becasue i was loosing water after i changed the waterpump, he said that it was the head gasket and it would cost 600$ so i said forget it and ended up changing it myself, now the car does not loose much water but it is still loosing water. and it runs like ****.

while the head was off i cleaned it out with starter fluid and wd40 becasue i noticed a lot of stopleak (clay ****) in the engine from the previous owner. which he said he never had any problems with it. it idels low now and i get an error for eacv and the... i forget (error 21 and 14)

 

also i have another block and head but the d15 and no vtech(should not matter to me anyway because the vtech is not kicking anyway, would it be ok to use the head gasket from the d16 even tho it was already installed on this car? it has only been a week, or should i just stop being cheap and buy a new one

 

ALSO after reading another topic i realized i made a mistake, when i purchased oil i purchased regular oil and not synthetic oil. the car was always given synth oil. i've been driving like this for about 300 miles on it. how serious is this, what should i do?

 

never reuse a headgasket...
is there white smoke coming out of the exhaust?.. could also pressure check the coolant system... maybe an external engine leak.. radiator, hose, rad cap..
