so i've done some research on wiring. the only thing ive really found is the wiring pin outs for the clusters. this is fine and all, but this would mean you would have to cut, and change over plugs for dimmer switch, clock etc...
does any one have a wiring pin out to change the dash fuse plugs. this way everything is uncut at the top of the harness. and you would just slap 88-89 fuse box plus on the 90-91. So it's a plug and play harness. Not a hack job like i've seen.

you might just have to do it the old fashioned way and get your meter out and test each wire and plug them up right or get the manuals or the 88-89 and the 90-91, and see the differences, and wire them up accordingly. Why would you want to switch to the bulky 90-91 cluster anyway?

…88-89 to 90-91 Dash wiring conversion… dem0nk1d(www.n0cturnal-labs.org)2008
To do the conversion from the 88-89 dashing wiring to the 90-91 is very easy. You’ll need the following items.
1.) Soldering iron
2.) Soldering
3.) Flux Paste
4.) Shrink Tube
5.) Electrical Tape
6.) Original 88-89 dash harness
7.) New 90-91 dash harness
Remove both dash harness from both dashes. Now you’ll have both dash harness out, and you will beable to work on them freely. Take your Original dash harness which is out of your 88-89 EF, and cut off the main plugs one at a time. Then trasfer to the 90-91 Dash this will help with confusion. . ** I cut each one off and then transferred it dirrectly to the 90-91 harness, to cut down on confusion. **
Now you have removed the plug from your 88-89, then cut off the corasponding plug on the 90-91. Then just match the color wires, solder, shrink tube each wire, and then eletrical tape it. You’ll notice on one of the plugs you’ll have one yellow/red wire left. Just snip the end and to keep it from grounding out on metal parts under the dash. Now the second plug, do the same. You will have a few extra wires left that will be yellow/red, just tie them all together and that should do it. Plug in your new cluster and see if everything works. Also test each new connection, such as dimmer switch, etc…
Now you should be good to go. All wires will match, also note that some color wires are different thickness. Make sure you match them with the corsponding thickness wire. Hope this helps. I will try to post pics when I get home. But I asure you it’s just matching the same color wires, soldering, and that’s it. One plug will match from the 88-89 to 90-91 but still needs to be chopped of and transfer the 88-89 dash connector on it. Pin out’s differ.
So when your all done you’ll have a 90-91 dash harness with 88-89 fuse box plugs. (SWEET)
