transmission question
so I know the auto tranny for the '01 Civic is known for failure. Now I'm kinda scared to drive my car. Is there any way to prolong the life of the transmission, besides changing the fluid periodically? I'm thinking of adding a cooler (dunno if that'll help much).
p.s: I searched, and didn't find anything

so just because of that problem, your not going to drive at all? cmon now. all cars have their issues. just dont drive it like you stole it and itll stay strong for a LONG time. i know MANY people over the 100k mark on their stock auto civics.
unless youve got added power (bolt ons dont apply), you dont need it

My car has over 103,000 miles and its an Automatic. Smooth as a button on all shifts. All I have is bolt on mods, not really anything that would effect the transmission. I'm planning on boosting and doing a complete rebuild one of these days, but there is a thread talking about this and people say the Automatics should have a rebuild done to them with a certain kit that gets rid of the weak parts in the transmission. It was about $1-3K or so I don't really remember.
