brake dust
I live in an apartment complex where I have no access to a water hose to use other than running one from my sink.... Anyone have any particular brand of wheel cleaner that I can spray on to take care of brake dust? Something I can spray on and rinse off at the manual car wash. I've heard horror stories of peoples finish getting ruined by some brands. I'm planning on waxing my wheels hoping that it will help shed most of it with just regular soap and water.
i used dupont wheel cleaner with teflon. works pretty well. you still have to hand scrub a lil but the "teflon" actually seems to work since ive been using it
I use this stuff on my wheels. Even though its not a PPG product
, Dupont made a good wheel cleaner that is safe on my painted wheels
Got mine from Wal-Mart for around 3.00

for street driving HPS are real good,i went thru couple sets of HPS+ they bite much harder, but they dust alot and are real noisy
to the OP, you can get simple green cleaner and dilute it with water, that and some hand cleaning should take care of it

For OEM wheels the best over the counter wheel cleaner would be from Eagle one. One of if not the best and safest boutique wheel cleaners is P21s Wheel cleaning gel. Supposably the strongest wheel cleaner is Meguiars wheel brightener. I would not use any of those wheel cleaners on aftermarket rims for fear of harming the finish except for the P21s gel.
