Is turbocharging a 88 civic legal?
I read an article in Hondatuning magazine and if I remember correctly they said it was only legal in 94 models and above. They also said if its below 94 and you try to get it smogged then they wont even touch it. They didn't really go onto detail as to why though. Does anyone know any specifics as to why it would be illegal?

It's not legal in Cali unless it is CARB approved and passes emissions and BAR. There are tons of boosted EDs/EE's in NJ that pass emissions with a cat, air filter, proper sensors, tuning, and than the BOV venting to the atmosphere
