good setup for H23 vtec?

Default good setup for H23 vtec?

"h23 block with jdm f20B head(type S head supposely) with JDM H22 Piston for higher compression. New ACL bearing and ring, mircopolish crank. hone, resurface."

a shop is selling this motor. im thinking about it but i don't know if this is a good setup or not. what do you guys think?

i just saw that you have a f20b head. ive never heard of it bolting to a h23 block but thats not to say it cant or hasnt been done. its reliable...i would get a tune just to be on the safe side. me on the other hand im going with high compression pistons and built head. heres my build

It's just as reliable as the person who built it. Sounds like a decent setup if it was done right.

if you had a choice between h23 vtec long block and euro-r long block. which one would you get??

h23vtec all the way. Get a euro-r IM and some type s cams and you'll be baaaallllllinnnn lol

the H23vtec is reliable as long as it is built well.

the f20b head is the same as the h22.

Same head just cast differently.

I've never heard that. Why would the valves be different?

He's right, they're b series size. The f20b is 85x88. Smaller valves for a smaller engine.

Have the f20b head ported, oversize the valves to h22 size. The valve angles, runners, and ports are exactly the same otherwise.
