wireing problem
My 12v hot wire for my stereo is only throwing out 3 volts of power and my clock is very, very, very, very, very, very dim. I didnt even notice that it was working until one very dark night I saw a little bit of it on.
So right now ive been wireing both hot wires on my stereo to the ignition (this blows).
I had theives rip my **** out 2 months ago. What could be damaged?

the wire is the "12 volt constant" wire for the stereo. The battery checks out fine. the car can be on or off with this bad reading. The grounding is good, I've tired various sources. The car itself works fine. Just the hot wire for the stereo isnt giving me much over 3 volts. And I have no idea how the clock ties into any of this.
The theives ripped out my stereo, amp, and box and cut out my AVCR. No physical damage to the wires (other than them being cut) or panels was done.
edit: im thinking of just routing a new 12v line from the battery.

the wire could have been stretched when the ripped it out. It wouldn't appear to be damaged from the outside, but the wire inside could be broken (or at least partially). Just a shot in the dark... Isn't the clock tied into the same "accessory" power that the stereo is (when you turn the key halfway the clock and stereo come on at the same time).
If you run a new line directly from the battery you'll have to remember to shut the stereo off every time
