ive done that before with a pair of old gsr seats...i wrapped them in black suede and red stitching like usdm itr's.. they were awesome.. and comfy.. but these are recaros now that i have.. not gsr's...its a whole new ball game lol... its hard to find shops that can re-stitch the recaro logo.. something i really really do not want to loose.
i've tried searching online for replacement covers from recaro but to no luck i have found nothing

last night how ever i did get an email from capital seating in the UK. here is what they said...

Many thanks for your enquiry. We can supply a number of service covers however buying a cover set for the entire seat would be very expensive. The cheapest option would be for you to send the seat to Auto-Trim Systems, our trim division. They will be able to offer whatever service you require.
If this is of interest to you I suggest you contact Peter Swann on 0116 266 4128. He will be able to advise you on the materials we have available and an estimate to the cost.
Kind regards
Steve

The shipping on that is going to be killer. Some one I know had it done let me pm him and see if he can chime in.
I do know that the recaro emblem is going to be next to impossible to get done for a reasonable price.

the fact of re upholstery doesnt bother me since i've done it before. but these are recaros and pretty old and i'd hate to take away the nestalgia from them.. but if it has to be done ill do it
the hardest thing would be having the logo restitched onto new fabric... i've see machines that do it and they come out nice for other stuff but i would prefer something almost if not exact in stitch style cuz the minute someone looks at it they are gonna say they are fake
in which case.. they are not.

I would think they could match it up pretty good but the last time I tried to get it done it was in the ballpark of 200-250 per seat and thats kinda crazy seeing that you can probably pick up a better condition seat for a few hundred more and it will be almost new.The price can vary i am sure depending what part of the country you are in but it isnt going to be 50 bucks anywhere I believe.
Great topic. I almost think it would be worth spending $900 on a mint set than trying to fix a set like that. In for the after pics. You may be on to something....
