Default LS vs GSR in a Ej8 for ME input appreciated

I've been commin to honda tech for a few years now most of my questions get answered before I have to ask because you guys know your ****. I've been lookin to buy a ej8 since I've never had one. I've had everything from a dc to an eg but nothing more than intake and exhaust.. I make good money now and just sold me ek hatch and am looking to swap something in RELIABLE that I won't have to build or repair often.. I'm cool with rebuilding but not right away.
I want to eventually boost. what I want is simple.. 96-00 ex si frnt HIDs full suspension camber kits strut/arm bars ect. dumped on some blades or some emotions gsr black leather interior with a good power plant. I know LS motors are pretty easy to find and cheap. But A Gizzer swap is so solid ya know is it worth the extra money? My goal is to be in the low 13's (not sure what hp goal that is .. 350ish?) and yes this is going to be a daily driver.

Which way should I lean.. Gsr or ls with intentions of boost... will saving the money be worth the wait... btw I got a solid 800 a month to save/spend.

Thank you all for readin and takin the time.

Boost the LS and hit 250whp... that should be good for 13's and the money you save you can put towards some aftermarket rods/pistons.

x2. You'll be much happier with the boosted LS in the long run, and you'll spend less on the LS swap as well.

is my best bet to find a motor on craigslist or is there any legit sights anyone can recommend? I know buying an engine is always a gambol but what's best?

And how safe is it to boost on a stock block with decent milage? Like 8 psi nothing crazy. Btw thanks again

Just make sure your motor is healthy before you do anything do it. Run a compression t and leakdown test, and its also a good idea to tune up just to make sure everything is up to par before you start messing with it. If you don't know what/how do to these tests, you shouldn't be opening your hood.

It is safe, you'll be hitting 13's for sure. there is a thread somewhere in forced induction for LS-T set ups, but i need to do my homework instead of procrastinating on honda-tech. Those guys will be a huge help to you. If you're buying a used motor, make sure you're able to test drive it IN THE CAR to very it's healthy, some of these guys are really shady, and will sell stupid cheap to make a quick buck off fucked up parts and naiive buyers. I've heard nothing but good things from Hmotors ... you could always hit up the JYARD and look for a stock looking teg, and take a gamble.

good luck
