Noob suspension confussion
Alright i will be honest, i dont know a whole lot about suspension stuff. please dont tell me to search cause ive been searching around now for about a month+ now. Im just curious about spring rates. Right now i know my shocks on my car are blown, they have skunk 2 coil overs on them, which i dont like at all. Im looking to get a whole new suspension, my problem is i drive a lot of miles sometimes 200+ a day for work, and the roads are pretty bad up here (norcal), in a month or so im going to be swaping an h2b into my car, so i need a suspension that will hold my motor with out sag in the frong and i want to be as confortable as possible, what kind of spring rates should i run? or is there such a thing lol... Note, i dont really want to know what set of suspension is better then the other, i really like the look of the f2's type 2's, im just not going to drop 800 for a set to find out that the spring rates in them are too soft or stiff for what i want... Thanks for the help guys. Btw the OTS rates in the f2's are 6k/10k
200+ miles a day and the car has to get you to and from work? I wouldn't go nuts with it. Think about if you'd ever even consider tracking the car. If not, then why get coilovers? You won't find that answer in any search, because nobody ever asks that question.
If you want it as comfortable as possible, nothing beats OEM - they are engineered for comfort. And it's not like you're putting a lead motor in the car, don't get too worried about running high rates because you think the h22 is going to weigh you down a whole bunch.

It looks like you might want to look into Ground control. They use Eibach springs and you can go with custom spring rates. Stiff/Soft. higher in front and less in back.....or whatever you want. you can also use it with a shock/strut set up you want. they will work with you.
I have heard good things about the above^^^^P.I.C and I have heard good things about Function and Form. You can do a search on these company's and find a lot of stuff or you can contact them directly and tell them your situation.
P.I.C e-mailed me one day later and with great information. so they have great customer service......as should the other company's

thanks for the info, i do track my car quite often during summer/fall time but just 1/4 track not like auto x... i was just going to go with stock shocks with some lowering springs but like i said worried about the h a little bit...

I just wanted to comment on something, you said you don't like the skunk2s but there may be a lot more to the crappy ride than just the coilovers, like the stock blown shocks for example. There are many factors that could play into the crappy ride other than the spring rates so I would look around before you go and spend more money on new coilovers and not change anything else, could be the same result.
For example, I bought my car with skunk2s and it rode like crap, Ive changed some things, and now its actually lower and it rides better.
