Default Door Lock Jam - 2006 Civic SI

I am planning on taking it to the dealer, but before I make that trip I thought I would check here.

On the passenger side door, the lock seems to the jammed. From the inside, the lock lever is in the lock position, but the door is not locked. In addition, I can change the lock lever to unlock position, it is stuck in the lock position.

Also, no matter what I do (use the alarm remote, use the driver side lock button or use the passenger side lock button), the door will not lock.

Anyone had this problem? Anyone know a quick fix?

Thanks in advance.

hmmm.. never seen this. my mom's car was doing this once but it was also like 20* outside and she had just washed it >< haha. I would say unless you feel like taking the door apart leave it to the dealer.

I have an off topic question for you Hellz can you PM me your email address? thanks.

Remove inner doorpanel
and spray some lubricant/lithium in there perhaps?

the mechanism on the interior of the door is very simple
it could have just something unhooked

the crappy part is that if you tamper with it and bring it in they MIGHT be a little suspect.

but try the lube.

i would bring it to the delearship to be honest. a friend of mine tried to take a look at it himself and he ended up breaking off a tab on the door panel....they said it was tampered with prior to them inspecting it, therefore they wouldnt fix his problem.

i know you're heavily moded but i dont think any of your parts will have anything to do with the door/lock. maybe door speakers but i doubt they will waive your claim for something that deals with the lock. good luck.

I had this same problem when I first got the car and couldn't figure out what was going on. As said before, I didn't want to tamper with it and break something before taking it in to the dealer. They said something was unplugged and that was the only problem.

take it to the dealer, let them take care of it. Don't mess with your stuff if you got a full warranty.
