M2B4 tranny larger than others-What axles?
OK I searched and heard all sort of different things. I have a jdm h22 with m2b4 tranny in a 93 accord and I destroy driveshaft shop cv joints (2 sets). I asked DSS why and they told me "they just found out the m2b4 was wider than the others". I think they mean the casing for the LSD witch is why you cant put the LSD in other trannys. Any way, they wont send me new axles even though they sent me ones that were apparently the wrong size. So now I am getting new axles and will probably get aftermarket. So do I get Accords, the hybrids-prelude inner, accord outer (driverside), or what? I auto x a lot so I dont think autozones will last. Suggestions, thanks.
If i was you..which Im not..I'd bet that you are running accrod axels as of right now....what tyou need tyo do to convert to Prelude axels is a set of prelude axels and a prelude half shaft...tehre alot stronger than accord axels
Accord axles are shorter, and probably would not be wearing premature like these right? But CD5 jeebies, assuming they are accord axles cause they were breaking doesnt make sense since they are DSS they will be the same strength (STAGE 1, 2, 3, ETC.) as Prelude of equal level. I guess my point is that if the jdm H22 tranny is wider, accord axles would be a little too long right? Is anyone running a m2b4 in their 4th gen? What axles are working for these people?
hmmm i assumed we were talking about stock axels...but I cant remeber which is longer..I do know that in order to run accord axels you need an accord half shaft and visa versa for prelude..I DO know that you can use accord axels in a prelude tranny...the difference being that prelude axels are thicjker and the male/fermale prongs are different which is why you need the halshaft also..hope this makes sense...ask on of the MODs for clarifacation if you wish
