n00b transmission question

In a GSR transmission, can you get an LSD to replace in it, or do you have to get the Type R transmission to have the LSD?

You can do either one. Theres a few companies that make them such as Quaife and the knockoff OBX. Or if you wanna spend the money to have the gearing of the TypeR also with LSD you can do that.

Hrm. What would be my transmission options if I wanted 5 speed with LSD to mate to a B20z engine? Only the S80, or can you do an LSD in other trannys as well?

JDM GSRs and B16s have the option of LSD as well. You're not limited to an ITR gearbox. Also, aftermarket limited slips diffs are available for nearly any honda MT.
