Default should i buy a 94 civic with 265k that blows white smoke at start up?

Hey im going to check out a 94 civic hatchback that has 265k on it. the body has a lot rustbut the floor and the frame of the car are fine. it jus recentl passed the e-test and its always been lady driven.
im only payin 800$ but the flaw is its auto and a CX.
i was thinkin over the next year i could swap a B16A in it and futher on i could convert it to manual.
what do you gus think, should ibuy it?

The rust part and auto would steer me clear of that car. Mileage is never really a reason to not pick up a car or a bad motor... engines are so cheap nowadays.

I would fine something else with no rust and manual. Something with insane mileage and a bad motor would drop the price

but the thing is i want a car in the next month and i only have lik 800 bux lmfaoo.
and i kinda need a car ASAP!
so im nt really worrying about the rust or the fact that its auto.
rust i dont car to much about cuz eventually i can jus cut it out and weld new metal buut im nly thinkin about the fact of how much lifeis left.
and bein auto isnt tooo much of an issue its kidna good acually it'll keep me from drivin the car too hard lolo

i think that buying a car that costs 800 is almost definitely a bad idea...because that means its likely that you'll be dumping cash into it in no time just to keep it on the road.

but if you must have a car and don't have more to spend...all i can suggest is get a car that's easy to work on and has dirt cheap parts readily available in your area.

My buddy just got a 92 CX with almost no rust for $1000 and less then 150k miles. I got mine with just over 200k miles and absolutely no rust with a few extra mods and still picked it up for 1.5k. I'd search around for a much better deal.

yeah but i think this might acually be a decent car for the price bcuz i alreadyknow that its gonna need a new engine but the girls dad who is selling it for her has no idea what hes talking about with mechanics and i think that he jus dosnt have the time to do it considerin he has his own vehicle.

But the rust is gonna keep building, no one is telling you you can't buy it, we are just telling you its not worth it.

No it definitly won't. But are you willing to spend the time and money fixing it over finding a car without and a better price?

Buying that car would be a good idea if you could get it for $300. Any more than that and you're getting ripped off.

Have you considered the fact that every suspension component that can endure wear on that car is probably shot? Youre going to need to buy the energy suspension master bushing kit and go through and replace every single bushing on that car.

Not that its a bad thing, im just pointing out that its one more thing youll have to do on a high mileage car.

it's just not worth it. the chassis is bad, the engine is bad. the only thing cool about it is what it used to be.

Default I say no

I drove my 84 Accord from 0 to 300,000 miles over 18 years. Miles 0-150,000 were pretty much trouble free. Miles 225,000 - 300,000 saw a lot of problems. Every single electrical motor basically wore down (alternator, starter, blower fan, fuel pump). The axles went, tranny lost 5th gear, seat hingle broke, CV boots ripped, etc. I wouldn't buy a car for free over 225,000 even if it's a Honda.

I bought a CX with rust and let me tell you, I would have paid double for one without rust. I replaced most bushings, froze off most undercoat, replaced half the suspension, broke countless brackets, built a room in a barn, bought a huge compressor, tool box, and over $1000 in other tools. The car hasn't seen the road in a year (no time to work on it) and I still need all body work materials and paint. I would rather drive to Texas then do this ever again. Sometimes I think of junking the POS.

But I have more money than time. Being 16, it's probably the opposite for you.

It really doesn't seem like you are gonna take any of the advice. So if you want it that bad go get it. But i'm sure you will come back to the site asking how to fix all the stuff on it when it breaks down after driving it for a few hundred miles.
