TESTING WATERS *RARE* Honda Del Sol VTEC - Built Motor- CLEAN - $7800
**SOLD**
Alrighty Ladies & Gents, read carefully. I want this car to go to a good home & to someone who will appreciate the work that's been done. I have thousands of dollars of receipts, especially concerning the motor & transmission build. Everything has been done right. I'm very meticulous about maintenance. If a part needs to be replaced, only OEM Honda parts are used. I have a thick folder of receipts from the prior owner of basic maintence dating back to when the car was new who like me, was **** about his cars. The car is rare & came with the original B16 powerplant.

Motor & Transmission have been glassedbeaded & cleaned during rebuild. Everything new...OEM gaskets, seals, bearings etc. I don't skimp out. I believe in doing things the right way. Motor has less than 5k on it. Installed this past November. I have close to 400 pictures of the build on CD. Changed the oil atleast 5 times since break in using only OEM Honda oil filters & the motor only has around 5k on it. Mobil 1 synthetic since break in.
Will last for a long time & take a ton of abuse. 255 psi across the board.
Built to be very resistant to detonation.
Tuned at DSG in Norwood & was told it was the highest outputting all motor Honda they've tuned yet. This was in July & one of the hottest/humid damn days this year & it's only running ITR cams. Not only that it was a conservative tune for reliability & didn't even touch the cam gears. It's begging for cams. I only live 5 mins from my job & barely drive it.
Anyhow, the car is pretty clean in & out. Looks oem & is pretty much untouched. Factory Milano red paint, slightly fading. All it needs is a fresh paint job to be perfect. I'm sure I missed some things in this long ad. I try to be as descriptive as possible. I'm a very honest & up front guy.
It has a clean title.
Lastly, I have the original B16A3 that came out of the car. Ran excellent, did not use one bit of oil. I was going to build it for boost down the line but will include it with the car for a very cheap price if interested. Will not part with the motor unless the car is sold without it so please do not ask.
PS. Car will come with 2 sets of rims. 4 steelies with new tires & 4 Integra spider rims w/ tires.

Honestly man I'm just testing the waters & in no way in a hurry to sell. I'm starting to miss my old hatchback & comtemplating trading shells. Another part of me is growing up. There's a lot of things going thru my head lol.
Far as power is concerned, well I have to explain this one. I've yet to have it dyno'd on a dynojet & see the numbers everyone's used to. Basically DSG (http://www.dentsport.com/) who are more into rally/roadcourse type of racing has a Dyno Dynamics AWD Dynamometer, geared more for the AWD evo's, suby's & so on but can be used for 2wd. I was warned before hand, not to get caught up in inflated numbers & that this dyno reads very low & is a heart breaker.
To get a perspective, Matt K. the tuner said a WRX STI that we all know is rated 300hp at the fly, puts down around 200whp there. A stock GSR he said something ridculous like 120whp or 90, I can't recall exactly. My car put down 175whp. Power didn't start peaking till after 8200-8300rpms with ITR cams, so red line pushed back to around 9k. That was with a ton of heat soak, on a hot humid day from hell. The original radiator had it which is why I got the koyo. Not to mention, it was not tuned in anyway for peak power, rather reliability. I estimate 200whp or more on a regular dynojet. Everyone was really impressed with the motor & Matt expects a good 30whp gain with cams. Gotta give it to Belben.
I was thinking about some day in the near future whoring it up & be a dyno queen by finding a dynojet to see what it does.

keith's extremely custom ITR pistons
milling quench pads for consistency with very tight clearance.

staking valve centerline to set radial valve relief clearance

forced wrist pin oiling

radial clearancing for oversize valves

gasports

additional, enlarged oil return holes and anti-flutter groove between top/mid rings

balanced

rough hand finish for carbon adhesion, grooves for increased turbulence aimed at the plug
balanced, resized, rechamfered, resquared, ARP'd and shotpeened ITR rods

vaned guide bosses, tapered guides

*****-out valvejob, fully ported, worked chambers

b16 head milled to flat quench

cut/ported/rewelded blox intake

rodbolt stretch gauge assembly

perfect valve seal, leak tested

fully clearanced/degreed in

one of a kind BelbenBuilt 1.8L

somebody buy this thing and put some Pro2's in there.. make 230 at the wheels. i built the immaculate tranny as well,, new everything, flawless.

I thought so too until I saw one a few weeks ago locally being sold on craigslist. Apparently some did have them as an option but it wasn't powered, it had a manual crank. Maybe it was from Canada, who knows.
I regret not getting it.

hey chris, what would you charge me to tune keiths motor for me on your dyno? just for ***** n giggles. this is the most detail ive ever put into a motor, wanna know what the extras were worth in power over a typical 1.8L with ITR pistons/cams

What was changed since it was tuned by Matt? Would you want Crome still or to switch to eCtune or another EMS?
Mike give me a call or have your customer here give me a call and we can work something out I'm sure.

I don't know what you mean exactly by what was changed. Mechanically, nothing.
Right before tuning, the rc 370cc's we're installed & Matt uploaded a map to the p30 base to regulate them.
The motor is still the same as when I got it from Mike. Never touched the cam gears & the only difference from now till then is the radiator. It was tuned using chrome & don't know the benefits if any of using another program.

Different features, better overall timing control...FREE datalogger version for people who have been tuned...
This is with eCtune.
Keith give me a call...we'll set something up
