Default Mini me parts, gone wrong

Well, a few months ago I purchased all of the parts I need to do a Mini me swap on a D16Y7. When I purchased the head and IM, I was told they were from a 98; there is a 98 scratched into the back of the IM, but it has air injection. I know I can't use the air injection on my engine and could plug the little holes on the flange and the nipple on the IM, but where does the vacuum line go to (the head, the block, somewhere else on the IM)? I guess the question is; is there a difference between the air-injected and non air heads (majestic honda has the same part number for 96-00 ex)?

JB weld your air injection holes right where the injectors are. They are tiny ~1-2mm holes, four of them. Depending on the year of the manifold you picked up, there is also a nipple on the manifold, at the manifold/head flange, that you will not use.

Don't forgot to block off cruise control if you don't have it, and don't forget to close off the IACV holes if you're using a manifold from a manual car and not swapping to 2 wire.

Clears things up a little. I read about plugging the holes on the IM and I could do that, but with the random misc small items missing from the IM, I might just try to buy a 96-98 on ebay that is complete and mix -match whatever is missing.
I'm doing a complete mini me swap (i have P2P ecu and wiring harness), so I will need the IACV the way it is and I have an LX, so I will be using the cruise control.
Questions:
Where does that nipple, on the IM air injection, go to (the head, block, somewhere else on the IM)?
Are the 96-98 P2P and 99-00 P2P heads the same?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure which nipple you mean. Does this pic help?

Yes the heads are basically the same. I have a 99 Y8 head on my 97 Y7 block. The IM is a 98 Y8. The mating surface of the 99 head is shaped a little different but you can just get the 96-98 IM gasket and a 96-98 IM and it should bolt up fine to a 99 head.

Your IM might have been stamped "98" cause that's the year the part was manufactured for the 99 model year.

My advice is to ditch the 99 IM and get a 96-98. I wouldn't want to risk having any vacuum leaks from the JB Weld ghetto patch job.

Thanks, sql_civic. I already ordered a 98 manifold (I still have to put everything together and put new valve stem seals in the head, so I don't want to waste time with the JB Weld and 99 manifold). I figured out that the nipple goes to somewhere on the 99-00 block or from the exhaust (I think it may be a sort of EGR). I looked on a honda dealer's parts website and they have the exact same part number for sohc vtec heads from 96-00. Sent the injectors from the 99 manifold to get cleaned and flow-tested, although they are a different part # than the 96-98, I think that they will be fine because non-OEM (pep boys) injectors have the same part number for 96-00. One more question....looking for a spring compressor to do the valve stem seals, anyone know?

Default Injectors good

I use a spring compressor I got from Advance Auto for about $20 and modified it by grinding down the tongs so they fit in between the springs.

Use needle nosed pliers to pull off the old seals and set the new ones in with a 9mm deep socket.
