Default 97 hatch gsr swap. few Q's?

Hey guys well this past weekend i just did a swap for a buddy into a 1997 hatchback. So I attempted to search but didnt find anything that helped.

Well so the problem is that when I just rev it alittle past idle the engine rpm would surge up, down rapidly, idle is fine just ailttle low, and when I would drive, it would jerk and drive ok. any ideas on what the problem could be.
For some reason the car doesnt seem to have much power.
let me know if you need anymore info on the car..

there are no codes and a obd1 ecu is used..

i'd try the tps also or the iac, that could also be why your idle is a little low and why it'sa little jerky.

iac/tps issue. i had the wrong iac on my im causing a surging idle and to lower the surges i adjusted the tps all the way to one side and it made the car really jerky and pedal sensitive
