Any of you have tinted/ or painted tail lights?

What are ur opinions of this? rice? dangerous?

been thinking of doing this cause im not a fan of my ek DX coupe tails, and i have a little extra tint layin around, and my car is black

there is a black tinted cover than 3m makes similar to the clear bra they have,.. one guy had it on his lights.. it was sick... i liked it.. so did several other H-T's but i dont remember the post it was in...

but my .02 is completely blacked out tailights are ******* gay, 1-2 coats are ok...but stock usually is about as clean looking as you get.

 

i think its a little ricy, depending on what the rest of your car looks like. just make sure its too your liking though.

 

Black car with mildly smoked tails looks good on anything.

Black car with totally blacked tails is getting more into VIP'd 300c and G35 territory IMO. Go with a few layers for a modest smoked look, and PUT A GOOD CLEAR COAT ON THEM. Can't tell you how many times a tinted taillight job has gone south because of lack of clearcoat, causing the tails to go flat over time.

 

a light tint on tails are coo,, so dark that the person behind u cant tell if your stopping is not cool.

 

yea, clearcoat them, i didnt clearcoat mine and about a month later they looked stock and dull. but i think it looks cool.
