My project car - DC2R
I finally got my car back, from getting tweaked, and some exterior mods. My car is pretty much done for now, holding up the stock B18C, which will be cracked open in the 2008 or so. The rear brakes will also be upgraded soon.
I know the 'R' is a great car from factory, but there is alot of room for improvement. I have pretty much just modified it to make it a bit more fun. Here is a diary of the build process. It has been a long project, and lots of time and money spent. A massive thanks to Indy @ ISMR, Ben @ Touge Tune, Adrian @ Toda Racing Australia, Leo @ JDM Concept, Zi and Yonaz@ JDM Yard and last but not least Peter @ Body form.
Best time @ Wakefield: 1.13.6 on Shitty Kumho V700's which are 3 and a half year old. Car is definately good for sub 1.12's, but a slight oil cooler problem held me back last Circuit club day to 1.14.1. The thicker oil also contributed to less engine response.
Enjoy...
It started!!! - First when I got her... 100% stock apart from pedels (which I changed) and sound system.

Still kinda stock... but coming along well. HALF WAY!

THE MASCOT!

YAY FIRST TRACK DAY!!!

March 2007: nearly there... So close but no cheese!

Car is finally all nearly done after a year and half of owning her. All that needs to be done is engine work:

Thanks guys,
The wing is a Cusco GT wing. Some say it doesn't do anything, but it's really quite noticable on the race track (100km/h + sweeping turns).
The harness needs to be crossed at the back. It's quite logical really, when you think about force etc. It also stops the harness from slipping off your shoulders, keeps you in place better than just runing them straight down.

not when the harness holes in the seat are open between the harnesses
if you have an accident and the harness tries to scissor your head off, you'll realise why

Oh yeah, the calipers...
They were quite exxy. But very well worth it. The Stock ITR ones are amazing, but like I said there is room for improvement. These calipers have bought down lap times by about 2 seconds suprisingly. Also the use of Project Mu SCR Pro rotors (carbon ceramic rotor), and a carbon ceramic Pad (Endless CC-X) helps alot.
Unlike alot of the "racing" calipers out there, like endless and Project Mu, they are very predictable, and great for the street aswell.

yeah good point actually!!
it's pretty firm locked down though. Doesn't seem like it's going to move anywhere. But yeah I understand where you are coming from.

Yeah uncross the harness.
The 2 holes being open to one another in the stock Recaros is definitely NOT good for cris-crossing a harness.
