I'm officially a squid now!! ;)
Just got a bike yesterday. Drove to Boise to get it, it's 1 owner, never been down, excellent condition. COMPLETELY stock, down to the ugly *** fender.
I simply could not pass it up as this is essentially the bike I've always wanted.
I got MSF next week, and I am ordering a jacket tonight (I already have everything else). Then once MSF is done and I get my endorsement and insurance etc. I will start riding slowly. I've ridden motorcycles and quads before just not something this fast before.
Either way thought I'd share. And yes I know a 600 is "way too big" for a first bike and I would probably be faster if I started on a 250, etc., but I got this bike to have fun and take at my own pace.

While a 600 IS too much for a first bike I cant say sh*t cause I started on one too.
That being said take her easy, and once you have a decent set of street riding skills try and do a trackday. You'll learn more about yuor bike and yourself in one trackday than 5000 miles on the street.
Oh and nice bike.

$5600. I've been looking FOREVER for one that isn't beat or wasn't owned by some idiot. It might be a little on the high side but sometime you gotta pay extra to get what you really want. Plus I NEVER see yellow/black around here.
Yeah I plan on taking it easy until I am comfortable. I do plan on hitting up some track days once I feel like I'm ready.

Nice bike man. You are now a member of the Gixxer Club
My friend bought his first bike shortly after I picked up my new gixxer6. He bought an R6. I gave him lots of riding tips and now he can keep up with me in the twisties quite well. Just be safe man, there's lots of incompetent cagers out there with no respect for us lil ole motorcycle riders.
This is my bike right when I bought it.

You should use only two, and make sure they're not ratcheting so your **** falls off the trailer like .paul

Had mine in the back of my buddies truck... with tie downs front and rear, and somehow it fell over in the bed, f'ed up my brand new paint and dent-free gas tank and upper fairing. Not because he was taking turns too fast, but because "the tie downs must have gotten loose"
