Hey im having trouble finding a tranny to change my civic to a 5 speed and was wondering if anyone knew where a good place to find one was.
Also when i do the conversion will i find many problems trying to do this? [ex. will there be a lot of cutting involved.]
Thanks

Honestly man, unless you are absolutly in love with this car or just like huge projects, it save A LOT of hassle to just buy a 5-speed Civic. Honda tranys seem hard to track down but I would bug HAPrecycling for one if I where you ($$$$.$$).
irst, search in the FAQ there are write ups on how to do this. second, get a trans from a junk yard and have it gone over to make sure the gears dont grind, and the main bearing isnt fucked. third, its not that hard to do this swap. just make sure you get the manual flywheel bolts, a new clutch kit, and the correct throttle cable for the pedals you get. any 92-00 civic and 94-00 tegra will work. you can use your axles and int. shaft. you will need a manual trans speed sensor as the auto one wont fit. its all in the write up.. have you even looked in the FAQ section since you became a member ???

do you have the other parts needed to do the swap?</TD></TR></TABLE>
^^^ yeah, I see people selling D16z6 and y8 transmissions for like $150 or so all the time.
